PROJECTS

Forest restoration projects play a pivotal role in fulfilling our mission at HELP. These projects rejuvenate and protect our precious forest ecosystems and serve as catalysts for stronger, more resilient communities. Through carefully planned reforestation efforts, wildfire mitigation, and the restoration of critical wildlife habitats, HELP is actively working to enhance the ecological health of our landscapes. Simultaneously, these initiatives generate economic opportunities, create jobs, and promote community engagement. By restoring the balance within our forests, we are not just conserving natural resources but investing in our communities' long-term well-being, fostering a sustainable, interconnected future for all.

Crystal Basin

Generously funded by CAL FIRE and the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, Crystal Basin forest restoration projects are pioneering a template for Sierra Nevada forest restoration. This approach aims to reduce wildfire impacts, protect vital resources like water, and enhance community resilience. We're forging a path toward a more balanced and sustainable ecosystem through strategic measures such as controlled burns and forest thinning.

Watershed Outcomes Bank

The Freshwater Trust is working with multiple partners to develop a Watershed Outcomes Bank framework to leverage and coordinate multiple funding sources and help ensure funds are deployed to the projects that most rapidly achieve watershed resilience targets in the Cosumnes River watershed. Rather than the traditional project-by-project funding approach, the Watershed Outcomes Bank will knit together funding sources from the upper and lower watershed to build a coordinated watershed-scale funding approach.

Caldor Fire Recovery

In the aftermath of the devastating Caldor Fire, we are deeply committed to collaborating with local communities and Tribes in the recovery effort. Together, we are working tirelessly to restore the landscape and heal the scars left by the fire. Through a shared dedication to resilience and restoration, we aim to rebuild the physical environment and the bonds that connect us to this iconic landscape.
